Engage Paediatric Therapy was founded in 2022 to service the ongoing need for Paediatric Therapy services in the Macarthur and Wollondilly regions.
At Engage, we believe in providing a highly individualised, goal-centred therapy approach with a strengths based focus.
mobile service
We offer mobile services, providing therapy in the home, at school, daycare and preschool environments.
play-based approach
We offer a play-based approach to therapy and strongly believe that relationship and engagement are the keys to learning and development.
Our clients
We offer services to children who are 0-16 years of age. We can provide services to NDIS Participants, those with a Chronic Disease Management plan from their GP and private paying clients.
We are passionate about working from neurodiversity affirming and trauma informed approaches.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy enables, empowers and encourages people to participate in activities and tasks that they find meaningful and that are necessary in daily living.
These are the things we want to do, need to do or are expected to be able to do each day.
Occupational Therapists call these “occupations” These may Include:
- Play and Leisure
- Self-care tasks
- Social participation and communication
- Participation in education
- Community access
- Sleep and rest
Occupational therapy can help children and young people to engage in the following meaningful occupations, tasks and activities:
- Play skills
- Self-care skills such as bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, eating and sleeping
- Sensory processing skills
- Fine motor skills eg. Handwriting skills, colouring, grasping, visual motor integration
- Gross motor skills eg. Strength and coordination required for sitting, crawling, running, jumping, climbing and our activities of daily living
- Emotional regulation
- Social and communication skills
- Attention, following instructions, problem solving and organisational skills
- School readiness and transitioning to school
